Who we are
The Working Group on International Student Employability (VicWISE) is a unified voice of international education professionals who are passionate about championing employability and career development opportunities for international students and graduates through advocacy, collaboration and support.
To help international students and graduates unlock opportunities for employment by establishing a platform for cross-collaboration and connections with industry partners and institutes of higher education.
Promoting international student employability – helping employers unlock a dynamic talent pool of skilful, loyal and resilient employees.
Advocating for international students – empowering students adjust and overcomes barriers to employment in Australia.
Supporting the higher educator sector – working closely with education providers to help their students achieve employment in Australia.
Collaborating with industry and government partners – fostering greater participation amongst key employers in unleashing this engine of growth and innovation.
Formed in May 2016, it is a collaboration between the International Education Association, National Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (NAGCAS), Council of International Students Australia (CISA), as well as the Victorian State Government and the City of Melbourne.
Along with these groups, university representatives and higher education providers from all 8 major Universities in Melbourne, Victorian TAFEs, private colleges and industry partners have joined forces to help raise awareness and take action to support international student employability.
